The Week of Lists – Best/Worst Movies of 2014

Every year critics and various websites proceed to offer us their opinions on what was good and not so good at the conclusion of each year. 2014 was no different. You were not able to browse the interweb at all without seeing the “BEST OF _____ 2014” or “WORST OF ______ 2014.” The thing that always bothered me about these “lists” were that they would come out at the beginning of December, a full month before the actual year was over and done with! I understand with Television specifically that most shows had gone on winter hiatus and there was no sense in waiting because there was literally nothing else to include. On the cinema front, most critics had already pre-screened all movies that were being released in December so again, there was no reason to wait, however, I couldn’t disagree more. I believe December is the one month of a TV and movie consumer’s year where they should be able to catch up on all the shows or films that might’ve slipped through the cracks if only to bolster a stronger list for whatever category is being talked about. The Mental Vacation has decided to use the entire month of December for just that purpose.
Yes, our “lists” are technically a month late, however, we wanted to give everything a possible chance of making our lists…the good and the bad. And so, each day this week we will be releasing a new podcast describing FIVE very specific categories with TV and Cinema for the 2014 year. We encourage you to not only listen and decide if you agree or disagree but to also reach out to us and let us know what you supported or condemn us for. We are excited to hear the public’s feedback about what we’ve come up with. After all, we did slave over more than 50 shows countless films to bring you these……throw us a bone.
And so, without further adieu, we bring you the second of a 5-part installment:
BEST/WORST TV MOVIES
