FINAL Oscar Predictions

Since the nominees were announced in early January, it has been a mad dash to consume all of the nominees in each and every category. As I’ve watched all of these films (all except 1), I must say that my opinion of who I think will take each category come awards night has changed as much as the weather. What has been surprising this year is the lack of campaigning from films and their studios this year in order to get their movies in front of the public eye. The only major two that come to mind are Casey Affleck’s previous legal troubles hurting his sure-to-win march to victory that will now be stolen by Denzel and The Salesman’s director, Asghar Farhadi, who has said that he will protest the Oscars this year due to President Trump’s imposed travel ban. This has garnered him as well as his film a lot of attention, attention that has been taken off of Foreign Language shoe-in Toni Erdmann. Either way, this year will be exciting albeit for different reasons than in previous years where the races are usually closer and harder to call, but nevertheless the Oscars will be amazing to watch.

Below are my final picks for who will win each category for the 89th Oscars this Sunday.

C’mon….it’s a no brainer. Everyone else is just excited to be in the same category and nominated alongside La La Land this year.
